Palpung Shedra Lungrik Jampal Ling (Monastic Institution for High Buddhist Studies) and Palpung University of Buddhist Sciences (Medicines & Astrology) contain a shrine hall, dormitory rooms, classrooms, a dispensary, library and reception rooms. To join the Shedra one must commit to stay for at least 7 years (the basic course), and throughout the 15 hr day one must be willing to study, debate and learn  the Buddha’s philosophy and various subjects including Medicine & Astrology.
