As part of their religious education the young monks recite the core prayers by heart and they also study Tibetan and English.
It contains a shrine hall, dormitory rooms, classrooms, a dispensary, library and reception rooms.
The young nuns study the foundation of Buddhism, and they also receive a secular education, which includes English and mathematics, among other core subjects.
Since 1977, Palpung Sherabling has provided basic medical care and medicine through a small dispensary to both the local and monastic community.
From August 5–7, 2025, second-year master’s students at Palpung Sherabling took mid-terms in grammar, Buddhist philosophy, and poetry.
From July 25–27, 2025, students at Palpung Sherabling’s primary school took midterm exams in Tibetan, English, Hindi, and math, supervised by their teachers.
From January 14 to 18, 2025, students of Palpung Thubten Dongag Chökhor Ling completed annual exams on philosophy, Tibetan grammar, tantric rituals, torma making, sand mandalas, vajra dances, and ritual instruments.
