Red Crown Ceremony and Long Life Empowerment

March 13, 2023

Numerous disciples have been repeatedly requesting Guru Vajradhara to perform the Red Crown Ceremony and bestow a long life empowerment. Therefore, at 8:30 am on February 28, 2023, an audience of over six thousand devotees, which comprised Kyabje Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche and other rinpoches, lamas, khenpos, monastics, and lay devotes from the Himalayan region and numerous foreign countries, gathered at Palpung Sherabling Monastic College. The program began with His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche's explanation of the Red Crown That Brings Liberation Upon Seeing in both Tibetan and English languages, which traditionally precedes the ceremony itself.

This was followed by Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa conducting the actual Red Crown Ceremony, bestowing the long life empowerment of Machig Drubpe Gyalmo's tradition, and giving a teaching on the importance of doing our best to become a good human being and an authentic Dharma practitioner with a stable character, good heart, respect for the law of cause and result, and pure perception towards all Buddha's teachings.
