On June 22, 2023, a day with a virtuous alignment of planets, stars, and elements, the graduation and khenpo enthronement ceremony of Kagyu Thekchen Ling Monastery was held at the main shrine hall of Palpung Sherabling Monastic College.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Guru Vajradhara His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa was escorted into the temple by a traditional procession of lamas carrying incense. Once he ascended onto the throne, the verses of auspiciousness were chanted, followed by a traditional offering of tea and sweet rice to everyone present. After that, the Head Khenpo Lodro Namgyal presented an introduction to Kagyu Thekchen Ling's study program, which was followed by a debate by the new graduates on "The Ornament of Clear Realization", a commentary on the Prajnaparamita sutras.
Guru Vajradhara then presented graduation certificates and appointment letters to the new khenpos and acharyas, praising the teachers' and students' excellent accomplishments and encouraging them to continue in the same spirit. After this, he gave a teaching on the importance of cultivating a pure perception towards all the Buddha's teachings and fostering interest in all Buddhist fields of knowledge.
The Jamgon Kongtrul Labrang and the new graduates then performed a long life offering to Guru Vajradhara, after which the General Secretary Tenzin Dorje gave a concluding speech and expressed his gratitude and appreciation. The ceremony was auspiciously concluded with an offering of traditional white scarves to the new khenpos and acharyas by the Palpung Sherabling Administration, representatives of the monastic seat's departments, and everyone who gathered for this joyous occasion.
