On August 15, 2023, in line with this year's celebrations of the 77th Anniversary of Indian Independence, the monastic community of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat gathered to sing the Indian national anthem and hoist its national flag. The celebration was concluded by an offering of sweets to everyone present.
