On September 13, 2023 after completing the one-and-a-half-month rainy season retreat, khenpos, acharyas, and monks of the Palpung Sherabling Monastic College cleaned and decorated the temple and arranged offerings on the shrine. In the evening they conducted the preparatory activities of the ceremony for lifting the restrictions, which included Dharma teachings, debates, and discussions that lasted throughout the night.
On the following day, they performed the actual ceremony for lifting the restrictions and in the morning of the day after that, they concluded this year's rainy season retreat with a smoke offering ritual, auspicious verses, and aspiration prayers for actualizing words of truth, which they dedicated for the benefit of all beings and the Dharma, and especially for the welfare of all the living and deceased with whom they have a connection. With that, they began the after-retreat holiday.
