The rainy season retreat, one of the three grounds of completely purifying the Vinaya precepts, which are said to be the basis of all Buddha's teachings, is being observed each year by the monastic community of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat.
On August 02, 2023, after completing all the necessary arrangements, such as cleaning the temple and preparing the living quarters and personal provisions, the learned khenpos, acharyas and monks of the Palpung Sherabling Monastic College who uphold the Tripitaka began the rainy season retreat by performing the Three Grounds Ritual at its main shrine hall.
Committing to remain within the retreat boundary and to devote themselves to listening, reflection, and meditation for one and a half months, the monks are now diligently engaging in teaching, studies, and practices based on several major sutra and tantra treatises.
